Tutoring Program
Individual Program KDG - 6th Grade
The RCDS individual tutoring program is a service offered to families who have children with special academic needs which require a one-on-one teacher/student relationship. Tutoring is provided only in certain cases in which the academic needs go beyond the normal scope of the regular classroom teacher's function. All tutoring is done by RCDS teachers or staff who are specially selected according to the needs of the child. Each private is 30 minutes in length. The tutor's purpose is to help the student accept personal responsibility for academic performance, to help the student catch up with the academic level of the class, and then to help the parents take over the tutoring role with their own child when possible.
The normal areas for concentration for tutoring are: Reading, Phonics, Grammar, and Arithmetic. The minimum tutoring offered through the school is one set of six lessons.
