What grade levels do you offer?
Riverside Christian Day School offers classes for five year old kindergarten through 6th grade. We also offer a college preparation program for grades 7 through 12 at our Secondary Campus called Woodcrest Christian Schools. (Call 780-2010.) The total enrollment is over 1,000 students for our entire
K-12th program called Woodcrest Christian School System.
What training do your teachers have?
Our teachers are carefully selected Christians who are qualified college graduates. They are trained academically and spiritually to minister to students in their assigned grade levels. We maintain a teacher in-service training program. Our teachers are prepared to instruct students in wisdom and discipline them in love.
What curriculum do you use?
The teachers follow a sequentially developed curriculum of Christ-centered Academics. We select the best texts available from Christian publishers, such as ABeka Books, and from other textbook suppliers as needed. The goal of our instruction is to help the students to grow in the wisdom of God. To read more about academics at RCDS, please go to our Academics menu.
What discipline approach do you use?
We call the students to obedience by instruction, warning, reproof and correction. We believe that students need to be loved freely and guided firmly toward wholesome growth. When students learn to love and obey God they are better able to love and respect people. The goal of our discipline is to help students grow in the character of Jesus Christ. We emphasize the development of attentiveness, obedience, responsibility, and kindness.
What special school services do you offer?
Library facilities, computer instruction, choral classes, and field trips are offered to all grade levels. General music instruction using flutophones is provided for 3rd and 4th grade students. Instrumental band and private piano instruction are available on a sign-up basis. Other optional campus programs include a hot lunch program, summer day camp, individual tutoring, shuttle bus service between campuses, and extended day care from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
What is your average class size?
The class size for the Riverside Campus averages about 29 students and we generally have two classes per grade level. Our enrollment is usually around 420 students for kindergarten through 6th grade and over 650 students for our Woodcrest Campus.
How much does it cost to attend?
The Rate Schedule is issued March 1st of each year to announce tuition and fees for the next school year. Current tuition rate schedules are available in the school office. Tuition rates for families with more than one child in the school are reduced. Click here to read more RCDS financial information.
School hours for the Riverside Campus are 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. The school year usually begins after Labor Day and ends the second week of June. Our summer camp opens in late June and extends 5 weeks into the summer.
